Dr. Armand Kopelman's Journal: Entry 6

I have spoken with their commander, Vince Decrupt, Sr., and he seems to know quite as much as I about the krevlocs. He has worked with other scientists on krevloc autopsies and knows that krevlocs spread through body fluids, radiation kills the bacteria, cloning a creature mutated by krevloc DNA would produce a “non-contageous” krevloc. That last bit of information was relatively new for me. I wonder what else the Commander knows. I didn’t get a chance to ask, because he told me what I realized earlier: Dr. Salamon was still in trouble. I was afraid Decrupt wanted to tell me Dr. Salamon was going to be killed by the guards, but to my surprise, he told me that I should do my best to save my colleague. He asked me what I needed and we spoke for a brief time about what we could do in the current situation what with the storm approaching and all.

This is what we decided. Dr. Salamon’s condition will remain a secret for as long as we can keep it. I will take Dr. Salamon, along with all the samples, off the planet and into a nearby space station which contains an adequate lab. Unfortunately, the storm is bigger than I assumed. Not much will remain here after it passes.

Dr. Salamon is now strapped for safety, the samples are collected, and we are ready to leave. I explained the situation to my colleague, Dr. Morgson, and asked that he should not come with me into the lab for it will be very dangerous. As usual, Dr. Morgson was stubborn and insisted he come, to save our mutual colleague and to advance the knowledge of the krevlocs. His aid will come in handy for I was told the space station was at minimum staff.
