Card of the Day Archive
December 10, 2003: Hidden Danger
Hidden Danger
With this card, your pumped gladiator can disappear from combat. You can play Hidden Danger on a weak gladiator. Your opponent may declare an attack against that gladiator, however, you may choose to either take it or pay 2 CP to have the attacker attack someone else. This can get costly after a few attacks so make sure you can afford it or you know what you're doing. And definitely don't set (i.e. to attack or to intercept) because once you do, you lose the card.
If you pay the 2 CP and your opponent chooses another gladiator with another Hidden Danger, you can pay another 2 CP from that one, however, your opponent can choose the first gladiator again.
If you only have one gladiator and no other characters and that gladiator is pumped with Hidden Danger, and your opponent attacks, and you pay 2 CP, something interesting happens. Since your opponent doesn’t have any other targets to choose, the attack fails. The attacker doesn’t set and can attack again. (See Targeting in 8.0 Advanced Rules).
