Card of the Day Archive
October 28, 2003: Ryla
Ryla
This character can deal +1 ADMG with her Growth ability, used when she deals ADMG. With her Hyper-Growth ability she can deal +2 ADMG, however, she must be raging to use it. Her Crush and Thrash abilities get better if she has more wounds.
If you plan on raising her to level 3 and beyond, try to keep her raging but not so close to death, that way if your opponent tries to heal her or mess wit her rage value you’ll be able to counter it. Keep some Fierce Auras and Slobbering Bites in your arsenal if you do not want to take any chances going that close to death.
Note: If you use Slobbering Bite with Ryla’s Growth ability, once you scrap it, Slobbering Bite’s continuous +1 ADMG is gone. So if she was on level 1, she would deal 2 ADMG printed, then the +1 ADMG from Slobbering Bite, to a total of 3, but once you scrap Slobbering Bite, she goes back down to 2, then you get the +1 going back up to 3 ADMG.
Note: If Ryla is on level 3 or 4, her Hyper-Growth requires her to be raging. If she is not raging, then you put Slobbering Bite on her, she will be raging. Then if you attack with her, you can scrap it and not worry about her being raging to use the ability because the rage requirement was already met.
Ryla works well on a team with Arkzilipul, Freakshow, Lillith, Lothar, Prince of Gates, The Fallen One, Goth Garal, Madame Petice, Maximillion, Bull’s Eye, Little Jinx, Pago, The Stranger, Poc Shot, and/or Simon Bantus.
