Subj: Discipline Tourney War Controversy
A number of gladiators including Little Jinx have complained about the use of weapons such as Phased Blades, that although they are Cybernetics, require a warrior's skill to operate, and also about the use of fighting techniques by gladiators skilled in War. In a startling move, only seconds before Version 9's Finals match, the Ophidian Standards Committee ruled that warriors could not use maneuvers or devices that "require advanced or special knowledge unique to warriors to accomplish or use effectively." With almost no time to prepare, Version 9 must now retool his strategy against The Stranger. Although the decision seems to be correct, the lateness of this announcement has led many to feel this is the Ophidian's way of getting back at Version 9 about his prior conduct revolving around the VP controversy. Also, due to the vagueness of the ruling, Version 9 will have to be extra careful to avoid possible disqualification.

Subj: Kaleem's Followers Flock to Ryla
Ever since the dramatic match one year ago in which Ryla killed Kaleem after being portaled in by Prince of Gates, and was then freed from the bond of his Glyph, Kaleem's followers have flocked to Ryla believing the spirit of Kaleem to be locked inside her. Although the followers of Kaleem have not determined what course of action to take regarding Ryla and Kaleem, there is no doubt that Ryla's ratings have skyrocketed as the result of all the attention. What truth there is to these rumors is unknown and Ryla has yet to comment, but many that have studied Ryla have noticed many similarities in her fighting to that of Kaleem.

In both events, Gladiators are only allowed to use one discipline in order to win. The first event is a 16-Gladiator Tourney, with each match a one-on-one contest of skills. This event will last five days with the Championship bout held on the fifth day. Also on the fifth day is a six-way battle between the best 4 VP gladiators in the Ophidian Leagues, including members of the newly inducted Justich Federation. Each gladiator will represent one of the six disciplines, and only one discipline will prevail.
Which disciplines will triumph? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more details.

Subj: Garina Still on High Alert
If possible, the amount of chatter in Garina has risen over the last few days as word from Dr. Kopelman has been slow and sporadic. Many different groups in the area who are split over the effects of the mission have been secretly vying for power with the Seventh Vanguard and other important groups. With so much focus on one area, tensions are unusually high and many fear escalation to conflict among a number of Garina factions. The success or failure of this expedition will likely change the fate of the entire system.

Subj: Anti-Kelnite Demonstration in Tarn Leads to Arrests
On Ursai Major in the Tarn System, what started as a peaceful demonstration against the Kelnite Order, led to violence as Kelnite followers converged on the event with a squadron of police enforcers. A Kelnite spokesperson had the following to say, "Since the Kelnite Purity Campaign, peace and stability have reigned in Tarn. Any who do not follow our beliefs are free to leave, but such unlawful demonstrations are futile and cannot be tolerated. These few troublemakers who incite violence are the reason we made the peaceful transition to a Kelnite-only system those many years ago."
